Growing Power

Will Allen's urban-agriculture organisation in Milwaukee (1993–2017). It turned a couple of acres of inner-city greenhouses into a working model for community food systems — aquaponics, vermicomposting, and year-round growing in the post-industrial North. Allen, a former pro basketball player and MacArthur Fellow, made 'good food' an act of justice in neighbourhoods the supermarkets had abandoned.
